  • 1865: Jun 23, 1865 - Brigadier General Stand Watie (1806-1871), a Cherokee chief, was the last Confederate general to surrender at the end of the American Civil War, on June 23, 1865
1889 
  • 1889: May 31, 1889 - Episode description: Accounts written by survivors, as well as period photographs and engravings, re-create the tragic events of May 31, 1889, when the worst flood in North American history hit Johnstown, PA
1896 
  • 1896: August Strom immigrates to United States from Sweden. Shipping out from the port at Malmo and arriving at Ellis Island he was one of several family members to make the trip.
