Eric,Jay, Marg, I FINALLY have copies of the house is Sweden. Am sending you one as attachment. I have prints I can send you They are 8X10. The original is 11X14 if you would rather have that size I can have some made. Do you think Ryan and Channing would like one also? Will ask someone from each Strom clan also. It copied very well, coloring almost the same as original. I don't know how to rotate it. Sheryl

PS: We had 17inches of snow last night and this morning. Beautiful scene! Took pictures. Wind is blowing it around now. Finally plowed our road but may close in places again. Waiting to see if Hen can plow our drive or get the neighbor boy. People were clearing out the grocery stores as if we would be socked in for a month!!

Notes from Margaretha: Emma Christina was born as you say April 16, 1861 in Almundsryd, a small parish in the southern part of the province of Sm?land. Probably the house with the stone wall is her place. It's absolutely NOT taken in Malmo as Malmo those days was the third largest city in Sweden and there were no places like that. Moreover there are no rocks or stones in Malmo situated on flat sandy land. The house and especially the wall are very typical of Sm?land. Also the shape of the house, a small farmstead. The farmers there had to struggle to clear the land. See The film the emigrants by Jan Troell (Vilhelm Moberg wrote the series of books. They are very well written and will tell you a lot about your background). It's available in America as well. Vilhelm Moberg was chosen THE AUTHOR of the 20th century.

I will forward the photo to the local historical association of Almundsryd and see if the house is still there.
