John was a landowner, including significant land from the father of his first wife. In light of that, his will notes the three children of Anna Herr should receive possession of his whole property, 313 acres, to be shared equally--but only after the death of his current wife, Catherine or when his youngest son is age 14. He willed the five children of his second marriage $1,000 to share equally, after the death of their mother.
