  Emma Christina was not called Palm in the church book (she might have added it in in Malmo when she left for the States as in the passenger list she is "Palm") Her name was Emma Christina Carlsdotter. Please see Carl-Eric Johanssonos book "Cradled in Sweden", where you find a lot of interesting things about names, traditions and so on. Emma Christina went on board a ship in Malmo, that's why Malmo is mentioned. Her destination was New York and she left alone. The boat left August 17, 1882.
