Christian Hershy, of Warwick Township, wrote his will in Germany, so it was not recorded in the Lancaster County will books with other wills of the time. The probate record, however, shows that the will was proved by the witnesses Bentz Hershy and Christian Kilhoffer on 18 January 1783. The executors, as appointed in the will, were Jacob Hershy and Isaac Harnly.[1783 Probate: [https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99B-JGTM?i=370&cc=1999196&cat=227825 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Will Book D, page 109]. On 31 March 1784, after Christian's death, guardians were appointed for his three minor children who were over the age of 14: Benjamin, Esther and Freena. On the following day, his estate was divided among his heirs. In his will, he had left his widow, Anna, all of the estate that she brought with her to their marriage. This likely means that she was a widow when she married Christian. The remainder of Christian's estate was divided among his thirteen children:[[https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C9PF-XS51-J?i=155&cat=244145 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Orphans Court: Miscellaneous Books, 1782-1784, page 300-301]. There is a Christian Hershy married to an Elizabeth Baughman, mentioned in his father-in-law [[Bachman-348|Michael Baughman]]'s 1756 Will - in Manheim Twp, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.
