== Biography == Heinrich Kündig was born in 1672. His parents were [[Kundig-1|Hans Jagli Kundig]] and [[Meili-2|Elsbeth Jane (Meili) Kündig]]

Heinrich KENDIG immigrated to America with the 2nd large group of Mennonites from the Pfalz (Baden section) in 1717, after the return visit of his brother Martin, who was fetching more immigrants from the Kraichgau.
He left Ittlingen in the Kraichgau and immigrated at age 45 [= b. 1672] on 24 Aug 1717 on one of the 3 Mennonite ships, with wife Barbara 42 and sons (Jacob age abt 23 [b. abt 1694] and Henrich 17 [b. Ittlingen abt 1698, d. 1736], along with his brother Martin with family. He supposedly immigrated with 3 first cousins: Hans Jacob KENDIG, George KENDIG, and Jacob KENDIG Jr; George and Jacob went to Conestoga Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Henrich settled KENDIG Tract #8, between Christian and Hans HEER. He had 265 acres there, at Big Springs, near the still standing Herr House.
Henry appears in the tax lists for Conestoga Township, Chester County (now Lancaster County) for the years 1718 (the first year included on the micofilm) to 1725. Henry Kundick died intestate (without a will) in Chester County (now Lancaster County). His estate was valued at £150 12s 4d, and included 150 acres of land. His widow, Barbara Kundick, was appointed as administrator of his estate. On 7 February 1724/5, she declined the position in favor of her "Brother-in-Law Martyn Kundick," signing her name as "Barebell Künttig." Administration eventually went to Martyn Kundrick and John Harr. After Heinrich Sr.’s death in 1725, she married his brother Martin as his 2nd wife, and is named in Martin’s 1748 will, probated 1749..
He passed about 1725.

When this profile was created, his name was entered as Johann Jakob Heinrich Kündig, but the sources in the profile all give his name as just Heinrich Kündig.
This is the Family B of the KENDIGs, per Richard Davis, who gives birthdate as c. 1670 rather than 1672 (as Wenger did) and says he died in ‘Conestoga’ rather than Lampeter (Conestoga was the older name for a larger area there).
